Students Difficulties In Vocabulary At Junior High School 4 Satap Labakkang, Pangkep

The findings revealed that students face five main challenges in vocabulary
mastery: (1) pronunciation, (2) spelling, (3) grammar, (4) meaning, and (5)
word length and complexity. Furthermore, four key factors were identified as
causes of these difficulties: (1) students' reluctance to use a dictionary, (2)
decreased interest in learning English, (3) infrequent practice of speaking
English, and (4) Factors External. The implication of this research is that
students need more targeted and consistent practice in English
pronunciation, supported by effective teaching strategies. Teachers should
incorporate phonetic exercises, audio-visual aids, and pronunciation drills to
help students overcome difficulties. Furthermore, recognizing that language
learning is a God-given ability can help motivate both educators and students
to be more persistent and patient in the process. By fostering a supportive
learning environment, students can gradually develop their confidence and
skill in pronouncing English vocabulary correctly.
