Emma Watson Language Style In Gender Equality Speeches
This thesis, entitled Emma Watson’s Language Style Language Style in Gender
Equality Speeche. Based on McCrimmon's (1963) theory of language style,
which divides language into formal, informal, and colloquial styles, this study
looks at the language styles Emma Watson employed in her lectures on gender
equality. Three chosen speech films were used to gather data for this study,
which uses a qualitative descriptive method. With the use of note taking
strategies, the researcher serves as the main tool. Emma Watson's statements
were recognized, categorized, and interpreted in order to study the data.The
findings reveal that all language styles were found in this study is formal,
informal, and colloquial. The results also show that the dominant language
style used by Emma Watson is informal style, which is mainly employed to
create closeness and engage the audience emotionally. This study concludes
that the strategic use of language styles contributes to effective message
delivery and influences audience attitudes toward gender equality.
