:“Translation Strategy in Translating Idiom in Taylor Swift’s Songs by the Indolirik YouTube Channel.”

This study aims to describe the types of idiom translation strategies used by
Indolirik in translating Taylor Swift's song lyrics, along with the types of idioms
found in Taylor Swift’s songs. The data collected in this study are described
using qualitative methods. Furthermore, using the theory of idiom translation
strategies, along with the theory of types of idioms by O’dell and McCarthy. The
results of this study show that thirty idiomatic expressions data found in the
lyrics of fifteen selected Taylor Swift songs. The result of the first research
question there are: 3 idioms translated using an idiom with similar meaning
and form, 3 idioms translated using an idiom with similar meaning but
dissimilar form, 20 idioms translated by paraphrase, and 4 idioms translated
by omission. The result of the second research question there are: 1 simile, 2
binomials, 4 proverbs, 1 cliché and 22 fixed statements. There are no
euphemisms and other languages found in the data.
