the object of this research is to describe characterization process in Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility based the theories of Michael Foucault, John Locke, and Nativism. the result of this research shows the characters in Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility including major and minor characters are constructed by three main factors, namely social system culture, education, economy and politics.
