Personification in Selected Nature Poems in Familyfriendspoem.com Website
This study aims to determine the type of personification in figurative language and the meaning of personification contained in the selected poems. The data source is a poem from Familyfriendspoem.com website. This study uses the theory proposed by Mezo (1999) about personification and uses a supporting theory from Hammilton (2002) about the classification of personification. There are seventeen selected nature poems analyzed in this study. This study uses a descriptive gualitative analysis. The analysis begins by selecting nature poetry on the Familyfriendspoem.com site. The researcher concludes that from the two types of personification contained in the poem, there are 20 prosopopocia and 2 prosopographia. From this data, it can be seen that the creator uses personification to give the effect of beauty to the content of the poem. So, readers can be more interested and imaginative.
