Students” Speech Errors in Proposal Examination Presentation”
The researcher used descriptive gualitative method in describing the types of speech errors faced by the final semester of students English and Literature Department. Data were collected from the taking video, observing and interviewing. The researcher analyzed the students errors using the theory of Clark & Clark (1977) with regard to fluency aspects and Thornbury (2005) in terms of accuracy aspects. As a result of the research, the researcher found that most of students produced slip of the tongue and mispronounced English words in their proposal presentation. The researcher concluded that the students made some errors in their presentation both in terms of fluency and accuracy. The causes of these errors refer to students felt anxiety, social reasons, cognitive difficulty and limited knowledge of English.
