The Violence Against Woman In The Novel “Big Little Lics”
This thesis explores the violence experienced by female characters in Liane Moriarty's novel Big Little Lies by using Humm's thcory of feminism and Harnoko's theory of violence. The researcher used the descriptivegualitative method. The novel Big Little Lies (2014) tells about the types of Violence and oppression experienced by Jane and Celeste. The researcher found that the violence experienced by women in the novel Big Little Lies is divided into two types: verbal violence and physical violence. The types of verbal violence contained in the novel such us harassment, threatening and yelling. The types of physical violence contained in the novel such us hitting, slapping and pulling hair. In this study, the most commonly found types was physical violence, where violence contained elements of violence resulted in victims being physically injured as well as having mental wounds and being mentally shaken as a result of the physical violence.
