The Meaning of “Online Learning Meme' During Covid-19 Pandemic Era in Indonesia (Semiotic Analysis)
This research is aimed at analyzing the representament, interpretant, and object in “Online Learning Meme' during Covid-19 pandemic era in Indonesia. The descriptive gualitative method is used to analyze the data. The data were collected from popular social media such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The theory that used in this research was Charles Sanders Peirce's (1839-1914) semiotic theory, the three-dimensional system (triadic/trichotomy). According to the results, it is found that the majority of memes that use images or pictures as a medium of transmission have balanced formats, which means that the amount of textual and visual information carried or transmitted inside the memes is balanced through textual and visual, and the majority of their contents are complex or varied and relatable to our lifes. Five of the six observed data have multiple contents and are relatable. Four of them contain current events and meme seifreference. Additionally, only one instance of each of politics, news, and pop culture is presented. Finally, description memes are the most popular sorts of memes. These memes use various components of a picture to metaphorically rTepresent different things, which is freguently decided by added text.
