Languange Acquistion of afghan male Refugus in Makassar City
This study examines the second language acguisition process of Afghan refugees living in Makassar city. There are 10 refugees as participants, they have lived in Indonesia for 5-10 years. The focus of this research lies on people who are good at speaking Indonesian. It aims to describe how they acguire a second language and the factors that influence the process. This research belongs to descriptive gualitative research. The data taken from the interviews were analyzed using Stephen Krashen's acguisition learning hypothesis. The results revealed that in various ways they acguired Indonesian, various ways such as self-learning and course institutions. There are 4 from 5 stages that they experienced of the language acguisition process those are preproduction, early production, speech emergence, intermediate fluency, and advanced fluency. Their second language acguisition process is influenced by two factors such as internal factors and external factors. Internal factors include integrative motivation, instrumental motivation, personality, language aptitude. External factors are formal situation and informal situation. Even though there are obstacles, but they keep trying to practice and always try to communicate with local people in the neighborhood
