Emotion in the movie "A Star is Born"

This study aims to analyze the primary emotions and emotional intelligence experienced by main characters in the movie script A Star is Born. The purpose of this research are to describe primary emotions of the main character and to find out the inner conflict that arised in the movie after the main character control their emotion based on the emotional intelligence. The researcher used descriptive gualitative method using the theories of David Krech about classification of emotions, Daniel Goleman about emotional intelligence and Forster about inner conflict as a supporting theory. The data were taken from A Star is Born movie script by using note taking as the research instrument. The result of the research shows that the main character in the A Star is Born movie experienced the primary emotion and the inner conflict that arised which are individual internal conflicts and conflicts that effect other after the main character control their emotion using emotional intelligence. Primary emotion experienced by Jack and Ally in this movie they are: happy, angry, fear and sad. The recognition of a person's emotions depicted in this movie can be seen from the way the main characters Jack and Ally recognize each others emotions and the inner conflict can be found when the researcher knows how the main character control their emotions. From the result of this research the researcher can conclude that the ability of main characters control the emotions were very different so the impact experienced is also different and this research can provide the importance of knowing emotions and how to control that motions because with the high emotional intelligence a person can have a good self-awareness understanding of that own emotions, have the ability to self-regulate, the ability to always try the best, have a good understanding of people around.
