Linguistic Landscape in The Preservation for Cultural Properties of South Sulawesi
This research is focused on the linguistic landscape in the preservation for cultural properties of south Sulawesi. The objectives of this study are to show the kinds of linguistic landscape in the preservation for cultural properties of south sulawesi and to describe the function of the linguistic landscape based on Landry and Bourhis” (1997) on Linguistic Landscape. This research is specified in the Top-down category based on Landry and Bourhis' (1997). In describing the function of linguistic landscape in the preservation for cultural properties of south sulawesi Landry and Bourhis (1997) used as a guideline. The methodology used in this research is descriptive gualitative method. The results of the data analysis that researcher found in both of two places is only topdown, especially in fort Rotterdam found as many as 10 types of top-down and in leangleang maros as many as 15 types of top-down. The use of language such as Indonesian and English. The second is the function of the linguistic landscape in this study found that there are 2 functions, namely: Informative function and symbolic function. From these findings, it can be concluded that the use of english of these two places is really needed to the visitors.
