Satire in “Jojo Rabbit” Movie

The aims of this research is to identify the types of satire which are being satirized in Jojo Rabbit movie. The researcher applied the theory of satire from M.H. Abrams in order to analyze the types of satire in the movie. This study applied gualitative descriptive research because the researcher interpreted the movie in order to answer the research guestions. The data are the script of the movie and dialogues that uttered in the movie which are taken through scanning and skimming reading technigue. The data analysis was done by classifying the dialogues into the types of satire, also discussing the findings, and conclusion. The results of this research revealed that there are three types of satire in the movie that are being satirized, they are, horatian, juvenalian and menippean. The researcher also discuss about how the men, women, and children use satire in the movie based on the types of satire.
