JUSTICE AND PRIVILEGE IN THE “THE PLATFORM” (2019) MOVIE DIRECTED BY GALTER GAZTELU-URRUTIA

This study aims to describe how social inequality is in the film The Platform, using
the theory of Sociology of Literature from a Marxist perspective. The method used in data
collection is watching and recording the film script. In accordance with the method in this
study, the collected data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method. Based on the
results of the analysis, the findings in this study are a description of the social class gap
between upper-class prisons and lower-class prisons. There are discrimination, violence,
sexual harassment, racism, injustice, greed, food grabbing and heinous murders. In addition,
the film The Platform also describes the upper class prisons that get the most food share
always eating all the food provided, as a result there is violence, fighting for leftover food,
killing each other until some starve to death in lower class prisons. In this picture, the social
gaps that occur in the platform film will be explained.
