REPRESENTATION OF NUSANTARA IN SELECTED CARD OF YU-GI-OH! TRADING CARD GAME
Games are a means of entertainment that can be used by all social groups and games have changed
a culture today. The repsentation is a form of representation on an object that is imitated on the
object being represented. with a game approach that leads to the representation of the Nusantara. the
researcher concentrates on this study. 1) What kind of cards in Yu-Gi-Oh trading card game which
represent Nusantara? 2) How the cards in Yu-Gi-Oh trading card game represents Nusantara?. This
research use descriptive qualitative approach. The theory of this research is a semiotic study by
Charles Sander Pierce (1931). Results from this research have 9 data from object Yu-Gi-Oh!
Trading card game some. The semiotic tradition includes the main theory of how the signs represent
the objects, ideas, situations, circumstances, feelings, etc. that are outside the self. The object of this
research is unique because it chooses from old Games, one of the popular card games in Japan
called Yu-Gi-Oh! The past few years since created Yu-Gi-Oh! increasingly famous in foreign
countries on one of best trading card game, so it is also interesting to be used as a research. This
research aims to point out the cultural, plants or animal side of Nusantara and discuss about
Nusantara from the scope of the game's point of view. because research shows which card Yu-Gi-
Oh! that represents its relation to Nusantara by using Sanders Pierce's theory of semiotics on
visually, in form or naming. so that this research adds to and has a perspective or aspect in the
world of library research.
