THE ANALYSIS OF CHILD’S EMOTION IN THE BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD MOVIE BY BENH ZEITLIN
This thesis studied about the analysis of child‟s emotion in the Beasts of
the Southern Wild movie by Behn Zeitlin. The aims of this research to find out
kinds of emotions and how the emotions portrayed by Hushpuppy character (six
years old) in the Beasts of the Southern Wild movie published in 2012.
This research used descriptive method and psychological literature
approach in analyzing children emotion in Hushpuppy character (six years old).
The instrument of the research is using note taking.
In the research, the researcher found some types of emotion and how the
emotions portrayed by hushpuppy character (six years old), such as; anger,
joy/happy, curiosity, grief, fear, and affection. While hushpuppy portrayed her
emotion in some form as follow; anger by striking and screming, joy/happy by
smiling, jumping up, and laughing, curiosity by sensorimotor exploration and
asking question, grief by crying, fear by panicing, running away, hidding, and
avoiding frightening situations, affection by physical hugging.
The implication of this research is informing to the reader about children
emotion in order we can understand children better. The researcher hopes this
thesis can contribute in educating reader of literary work.
