GENETIC STRUCTURALISM IN NOVEL “THE MAGIC STRINGS OF FRANKIE PRESTO” BY MITCH ALBOM
This study focused on Genetic Structuralism to find out the correlation
between external factor and structural novel ―The Magic Strings of Frankie
Presto” by Mitch Albom. The objective of this study is to describe the external
factor influence the element of structural in the novel ―The Magic Strings of
Frankie Presto” by Mitch Albom. This study uses descriptive qualitative method.
The data are analysed based on Genetic Structuralism Lucian Goldman theory.
The result of this study shows that, first humanity fact: this research showed
the humanity fact in Spanish society 1936-1971 (The Dictator Regime of Franco)
and the role of America in war world II. Second, the collective subject showed
Frankie’s life as a musician in pursuing his career by having closed with the
intoxicated world. Third, the author world view showed the Tarrega Fransisco is
the inspiration of Mitch Albom as the author and musician who influence the
structural of the novel that tell about a musician’s life.
