Psychopathy in the Movie “Pearl” (Psychoanalysis Approach)

This research aims to analyze the motives of main character in the movie
Pearl. The purpose of this research is to describe motives of the main character
become a psychopath. The researcher used descriptive qualitative method using
the theories of Sigmund Freud about Personality Structure. The data were taken
from Pearl movie by using note taking as the research instrument. The result of
the research shows that the main character in the Pearl movie gets hard pressure
from her parents, causing Pearl to lose control and kill anyone around her who she
thinks can hinder her dream of becoming a world star. From the result of this
research the researcher can conclude that the motives made Pearl as psychopath
was his Id which became the dominant one than his ego and superego.
