The Icon of Masculinity in Sinrilik Tubaraniya Ri Gowa: A Semiotic Analysis
Abstract This research was about the sinrilik Tubarania Ri Gowa which aimed to explore kinds of signs that are expressed and to analyze the meaning of sign including icons that found in the sinrilik Iyrics. This research was descriptive gualitative method using a semiotic theory who advocated by Charles Sander Pierce as its theoretical framwork. The data for this study were collected from the sinrilik Iyrics using Pierce's theory called the triadic model including Tepresentation, object component, and interpretant. The findings revealed that metaphor types of sign as the focus of the research. The results of the analysis revealed that the meaning of icon masculinity could indeed be interpreted using Pierce's semiotic theory, especially the relationship between their representament, object, and interpretant.
