Plot Analysis In The Split Movie (2017)
This research examines the storyline that mmotivates the unhappiness and happiness of the characters in the “split” movie. This research uses Freud's concepts of pleasure and pain that motivate and inspire people to move forward or avoid movement. Using gualitative research data by examining events in the storyline that construct the happy or unhappy state of the characters in the movie, this research shows that the movement of events in the story is significantly influenced by the characters' intentions towards pleasure, and their objections to that pain. Based on these intentions and objections, the events that construct the movement of the story are arranged. Besides that, the researcher describes the results of this study using a gualitative descriptive method. As a result, the researchers found several events in the movie, the first was the exposition where Kevin's personality began to emerge which would bring conflict, the second the action increased where the conflict began to develop where one of Kevin's personalities kidnapped 3 students, the third was the climax, the peak where Kevin's personality was named the best kill dr. fletcher and 2 students who were kidnapped, the final resolution of the final story where one of the students who survived was able to realize Kevin's wild personality. Therefore, if someone experiences internal conflict or mental disorders, it is very important to seek professional help such as a psychologist or psychiatrist who can provide appropriate and supportive treatment.
