The Interpretation of the poem “A Song of Hope” by Kath Walker through a structural approach

Muhammad Ashhabul Yamiin - Personal Name;

This research discusses “A Song of Hope”, a poem composed by Kath Walker. The poem is interpreted through a structural approach that examines all elements of the poem to serve as a benchmark for the interpretation of this research. The researcher as an instrument in this research provides findings in “A Song of Hope” that this poem interprets the essence of freedom and hope. Especially for the Aborigines in Australia, their hope for the future is written in Kath Walker's poetic style which is implicit in “A Song of Hope”. Kath Walker's literature work gives a realistic impression that seems to bring us into the story of the poem, this is due to her expertise and herself as an Aboriginal who has a career as a poet, political activist, and environmentalist.
