Illocutionary Acts in “No Time to Die” Movie
This research discusses the issue of illocutionary act in “No Time to Die” Movie. The main objective of this research is to find out the types of illocutionary act expressed by James Bond, the main character in “No Time to Die” Movie. The researcher uses descriptive gualitative method by applying John Searle's theory (1979) of illocutionary act to answer the objective of this research. The data are taken from “No Time to Die” Movie and the script of the movie. The result of the analysis shows that James Bond as the main character in "No Time to Die" Movie applies four types of illocutionary act purposed by Searle. They are directive, commissive, representative, and expressive. Directive act consists of the functions of asking, commanding, reguesting, and reminding. Commissive act contains offering and promising functions. Representative act shows the function of stating and informing and Expressive act involves apologizing, thanking, praising, greeting, and congratulating. Based on the result of this research, the researcher concludes that directive illocutionary act in asking function mostly uttered by the main character in "No Time to Die" Movie.
