The Adaptation Of Gatotkaca Story To The Game Of Mobile Legend Bang Bang
Gatotkaca is an assimilation of Indian literature and Indonesian Javanese culture im the form of puppet stories. Although this puppet character is not unigue to Indonesia, Gatot Kaka is a legendary character that has been passed down from generation to generation in Indonesia with the evolution of various vehicles. The transition began with puppetry, literary and folklore, cartoons, and into the digital age like mobile games. This study explores the differences and similarities in the adaptation of works designed in the vehicke transition from the character Gatot Kaka in the folklore "Gatotkaka Satria Dali Pringadani" to the avatar in the mobile game "Mobile Legends Bang Bang". intended to be obscrved. The research methods used employ a descriptive-gualitative approach. Thc adaptation method used uses that from Linda Hutcheon's book Theory of Adaptation (2006), but the data collection technigues used are observations of various sources, theoretical studies, reading, playing, and identifying folk media and mobile games, the design of Gatot Kaca's Character has shifted from vairious sides. The first is the change in the details of the various attributes that are imposed to be simpler, that Gatotkaca's wisdoms and characters already well represent Indonesian culture. The next research need to find out if this represent left an effect on Indonesian teenager who played Mobile Legends: Bang-Bang, and play with Gatotkaca as the hero.
