Hegemony of the Bombshell Movie (Antonio Gramsci's Perspective)
Mass media, especially movies, are messengers in the communication process. A movie with widespread influence can be a form of hegemony, primarily if it promotes a particular ideology or worldview. This study aims to discover the intellectual, the subaltern of the movie Bombshell and how the movie used as a hegemony site. The researcher used descriptive gualitative research mcthod and Gramsci's hegemony theory. The result of this study is that Matthew Jay Roach, the director of the Bombshell movie as the intellectual, the subaltern of this movie is Women who experienced or received sexual harassment both verbally and nonverbally by Fox News CEO Roger Ailes and Donald Trump who was one of the presidential candidates at the time and the researcher sees how this movie tries to showing the male dominance and power that is displayed in the movie especially from Trump and Roger. Therefore, it can be concluded that Bombshel!'s movie is a site of political hegemony.
