The Eguivalence of Indonesian Translation Subtitle by Disneyt Hotstar on Animation Movie “Turning Red”
This study discusses translation eguivalence in the subtitle of Turning Red movie, which aims to explain the way types of translation eguivalence are realized in the Indonesian subtitle of the movie by using the theory of Nida and Taber (1982). The method used in the research was a descriptive gualitative method. The data were taken from the dialogue and transcript of the animation movie Turning Red. This research used note-taking as the research instrument. The findings showed that formal eguivalence type is realized by translating a word from the source language by paying attention to the grammatical units in both languages and considering the fit meaning based on the sentence structure from the source language into the target language, and dynamic eguivalence type is realized in translating the subtitle by considering the relation between the word and the speaker as well as also the influence of the situational and cultural context on the meaning conveyed in the movie.
