Interpersonal Conflict of Characters in “One of us is Lying” Novel by McManus (2017)
This research discussed about Interpersonal Conflict of Characters in “One of is Lying” Novel by McManus. This research focused on finding contains some terms that have a relation to the Interpersonal conflict in the novel. The data were analyzed using descriptive gualitative method. The theory that used in this research was the theory of interpersonal conflict in literature by Wilmot and Hocker (2017). The main instrument of the research is Note-Taking. The findings showed total of 21 data found regarding to Interpersonal conflict potrayed by the dialogues of the characters in the novel. The conclusion of the research are, first Simon's character had interpersonal conflicts with not only the four central characters in the story, but also with a few other minor characters. Simon's interpersonal conflict with the other Character occurred both directly while he was still alive and indirectly after his death. Second, The contradictory objectives amongst individuals, as well as the other characters' interdependence on what Simon did and wrote, were the factors driving interpersonal conflict between the characters.
