Impoliteness Strategies Used By Haters Of Doja Cat On Social Media

This research aims to analyze the ways of impoliteness realized in social
interaction in the comment on Doja Instagram. This research is designed
descriptive qualitative research. The data sources of data were taken comments
from the comment that spoken by Doja Cat haters toword her picture which
posted on her Instagram account. The data were the utterances of the comment
that contained hate speech. That were analyzed by using Culpeper’s impoliteness
theory. The research results showed that the comment uses five strategies of
impoliteness there are bald on-record impoliteness, positive impoliteness,
negative impoliteness, sarcasm, and withhold politeness, the strategy that were
mostly used was bald on-record impoliteness. Furthermore, three functions of
impoliteness were affective impoliteness, coerective impoliteness, and
entertaining impoliteness the strategy that were mostly used was affective
impoliteness.
