Ecranization Of The Novel “Everything, Everything” By Nicola Yoon To Movies
Ecranization provides a new space for knowledge regarding a literary work with a
different form from the original work. Novel literary works are the form of literary
work that most often experiences ecranization into movie form. This study aims to
find out how ecranization influences moral values in the novel “Everything,
Everything” by Nicola Yoon to convey to the movie. To achieved the aims of this
study, the researcher used descriptive qualitative methods, Eneste’s Ecranization
theory, and James Rachel’s moral value theory. The result of this study showed that
the researcher found the moral values in Nicola Yoon's novel Everything,
Everything, after being transformed movie, found that there was no change in the
moral values in both story mediums. The researcher found the aspects of
ecranization in reduction, addition, and variation of change and the more significant
are is in reduction of the plot because of the limitied duration of the movie.
Menwhile, the moral values delivaded are just the same showed by the characters,they are.
