Semiotic Analysis Of Memes Based On Peirce’s Theory

The aim of this research to analyze the semiotics in memes image. This
research used a descriptive qualitative method to make explained the data and note
taking as an instrument of the research. In collecting the data, the researcher
analyzed the object by used the theory of semiotics by Sanders Peirce. This
research focused to analyze signs in object. This object involved three signs,
namely; icon, index, and symbol. The result of this research found the signs shown
in the memes were analyzed by using the triadic relationship and conveyed to
readers through the proccess of semiosis in signs. The research also found the

meanings in the memes described the struggle and motivation for achieving
success for every human being.
