Child Vocabulary Recognition Through The Moon Bug Entertainment Video (A Case Study on 8 Years Old Child)
The introduction of English vocabulary to a child is one part of the second language
acquisition (L2) that refers to the acquisition of any language with a foreign
language. There are several stages to mastering a language. It can be obtained from
the environment through continuous practice. The research is aimed at finding out
the recognized vocabulary through the Moon Bug Channel and to know how do the
child recognized the vocabulary from the Moon Bug Channel. The subject of this research is an 8-years-old (RR), who used Indonesian as his daily language. Qualitative methods were used in this study to describe the results of research collected from the child. The observation lasted for 27 days. The subject watched the Moon Bug channel for 1-3 hours a day. The results showed that the child can recognize 80 basic English words through the Moon Bug channel, some of the lists of such vocabulary are: Verbs (such as look, stop, go, play, eat, like, etc);
