Bima Language Maintenance by Bima Society in Pota, Sambi Rampas Distrik, East Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara

This research discussed about the language maintenance which aimed to find out
the maintenance and the factor of Bima language maintenance by Bima society in
Pota, Sambi Rampas District, East Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara
Province. This research applied descriptive qualitative method. The participant
was 15 Bima people who live in Pota, Sambi Rampas District, East Manggarai
Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. The data were taken through interview
and observation. This research found the following results, there are five of Bima
language maintenance they are: Domain family, neighborhood, education,
religion, and workplace and there are two factor of Bima Language maintenance
namely: family and attitude. The researcher concluded that most of the Bima
society till used their mother tongue in their daily life as one of the efforts of
language maintenance.
