The glass ceiling is an obstacle for a woman working in a company to
rise to a higher position due to gender differences, the injustice experienced
by women gave rise to the feminism movement. Women fight for freedom to
be equal to men. This research aims to find out the glass ceiling experienced
by the main character, the liberal feminism movement carried out by the main
character in the movie. This research uses Bjerk's glass ceiling theory and
Martha Nussbaum liberal feminism theory. The method used to help analyze
the data is a qualitative method that takes dialogue and scenes from the movie
as the main data of this research. The result of this research is that the glass
ceiling in the scene in the movie appears as a conflict and occurs due to several
human factors in the world of work regarding the issue of gender
discrimination, namely the obstruction of promotion and promotion of clients,
and the equal rights of women and men in the autonomy of individual
liberation and freedom of discrimination. This research reveals that the glass
ceiling effect continues to occur in the modern era. Therefore, this research
suggests that companies should be careful in setting policies, and a good
understanding of gender differences in the workplace is also needed to
minimize similar cases. In addition, researchers would like to invite further
researchers to further discuss a literary work, especially this glass ceiling so
that this social problem can be more widely known and provide awareness to
the younger generation to further discuss the glass ceiling so that no more
women experience this in a company.
