Psychopathy in The Movie of The Bad Seed (2018)

This research discusses the psychopathy in the movie The Bad Seed. The
research is aimed at identifying the characteristics of psychopath shown in the main
character of the film as well as how the main character‟s psychopathy affects the
movie conflict. The research uses the descriptive qualitative method by applying
Cleckley‟s theory of the characteristics of psychopath to find out the psychopath
characteristics shown in the movie. The research found that Psychopathic cases are
usually experienced by adults such as trauma, depression, or the like or at least
Psychopath traits are usually experienced by children in their early teens whereas
in this film a person with a psychopath is a 9 year old child, and the challenge is
because they cannot be subjected to law then the way taken by alienating and
keeping her away from the general public.
