Language Style Used In “Purple hearts” 2022 Movie

The research discusses about the language style used in “Purple
Hearts” 2022 movie. The objective research is to find out the types of
language style used in “Purple Hearts” 2022 movie. The data in this research
focused on two main characters in movie, Cassie and Luke. This research
used descriptive qualitative methods. The source data of this research is
“Purple Hearts” 2022 movie dialoque transcripts. In collecting the data, the
researcher applied note-taking instrument. The researcher employed Martin
Joo’s theory to find the types of language style. Based on the analysis of the
data, the researcher found five types of language style used by Cassie and
Luke in the movie. Namely: frozen style, formal style, casual style,
consultative style, and intimate style. There are 30 data are collected, 1 data
are classified as frozen style, 7 data are classified as formal style, 10 data are
classified as casual style, 7 data are classified as consultative style, 6 data are
classified as intimate style. The dominant types are used in the movie is
casual style.
