Taboo Words In The Nice Guys Movie 2016

The research with the types and functions of taboo words in movie The Nice Guys 2016. The objectives
of the research were to analyze the type and function of taboo words in movie The Nice Guys 2016. The
data were analyzed by identifying types and functions of taboo words in movie The Nice Guys 2016
taken from the script of dialogues The Nice Guys 2016. This study used a descriptive qualitative
method. All taboo words of epithet, obscenity, vulgarity, and profanity appeared in the movie. The four
kinds of taboo words applied in the movie The Nice Guys Movie 2016 the total words taboo in the
movie were 48, ephitets were 4, profanity were 10, vulgarity were 7, and obscenity were 27 times. The
most dominant kinds of taboo word used in the movie The Nice Guys 2016 were Obscenity with 27.
There were four functions of taboo words applied in the movie The Nice Guys 2016. The total function
of taboo words were 48, to show contempt was 21, to draw attention to oneself was 7 appeared, to be
provocative was 18 and to muck authority with 2. It's hope that this study will be useful for everyone
who wants to study sociolinguistics..
