this thesis aims to find out kinds of lexical cohesion and to explain the unction of lexical cohesion that were performed by characters in the novel. basd on result, the writer concludes that repetition dominates in this novel. therefore, the functions of repetition are to stree, to connected, to inform, to declare, to persuade, to describe, to express and show the speaker situation.
