Culture Shock Experienced by foreigners in Makassar City

This research discussed about Culture Shock Experienced by Foreigners in Makassar City, which aimed to find out the process of culture shock experienced by Foreigners in Makassar city. This research used qualitive method and focused on Collen Ward’s theory. The researcher used interview sheet as instrument of the research to four respondents who are have been stay in Makassar city. The researcher found that there are four processes of culture shock experienced by foreigners. Such as honeymoon phase is first stage because of hospitality, scenery and custom of the host country. The second is crisis stage is the crisis phase because of cross culture differences in hoe people communicate. The third is recovery phases, where they began to accept, to resolve and to adjust their cultural differences. Finally is adjusment phase where they were enjoyed and accepted the cultural differncest in new environment. The implication of this of this research is to give understanding about culture shock
