Ethnocentrism Shown In “ The Hundred – Foot Journey “ Movie

This research discussed abaut the ethnocentrism analysis which tried to describe the etnhosentrism that rises in “ The Hundred – foot Journey “ movie. This research aimed to know ethnocentrisms characteristics and consequences in that movie which focused on sumner’s and Gudykunts’s Theory. Then, the data were analyzed using deskriptive qualitative method. The researcher used note taking asthe instrument to find out the valid data. The findings showed that showed that the character of Mr.Kadam, Madam Mallory and Jean Pierre in movie “ The Hundred-Foot journey” had Characteristics of ethnocentrisem in themselves. The consequences of ethnocentrism in this movie were also shown by Mr. Kadam, Madam Mallory and Jean Pierre. The consequnces were misunderstanding negative reaction, justify mistreadment to out groups, exxagerate groups differences, see a good values only in own group, complicate intercultural issue and rejection of richness and knowledge of out groups, but hinders understanding to out groups and keeps undestanding to in groups were not found in that movie.
