Assimilation of The Sound /n/ in English and Classical Arabic (Comparative Analysis)
This research discussed about the assimilation of the sound /n/ in English and Classical Arabic (Comparative Analysis) which aimed find out the assimilation of /n/ in English and Classical Arabic , when the phoneme met other phonemes whether it were consonanrs or vowels and describe the similarities and differences of assimilation of /n/ in English and Classical Arabic . This research based on Peter Roach Theory which talked about assimilation. This research was descriptive qualitative method.The reseaecher actually used note taking as an instruments in order to find out the valid data The findings showed that the assimilation process in English especially in nasal feature of /n/ was unclear when meet with other phonemes especially consonant , while in Classical Arabic ,nasal feature of /n/ was more obvious. Whereas, the assimilation process of /n/ only occurred in within word boundaries of English but it was not found in Classical Arabic assimilation . In addition, there was also assimilation /n/ in Classical Arabic which occurred in across wort boundaries and the contrary did not occur in assimilation processes in across word boundaries in English
