An analysis of satire in standa-up comedy (case study in three comedian of indonesia tv programme)

This thesis studid about analysis of satire in stand-uo comedy (Case study in three comedian of Indosiar TV Programme). The objektive of this research is to find out the types of satire in three stand up comedian in I ndosiar TV and to find out the language fuction of satire in three stand up comedian in Indosiar TV. In this researc, the researcher applid descriptive qualitative research that produced descriptive data about types and function of satire. The researcher choose three. The researcher, used Abram theory about types of satire and Chaer and Agustina theory about language function of satire. The findings of the research showed that there are three types of satire used by the three stand up comedian in stand up comedy Indosiar namely horation, juvernalian, and burlesque. Then, it is also found imagination. Therefore,the research concluded that satire in stand up comedy is used by the stand up comedian not only to entertain but also gives knowledge about satire in public
