Grammacital erros made by the fifth semester students at english and literature departement in writing essay
This research discussed about Grammacital Erros Made by the fifth semester studens at English and Literature Depertement in writing essay. This research aimed to identify and analyze grammacital erros as well as their causing facctor in essay made by students of literature departement. This research focused on dulay and richard theories about grammacital errors. The research used interview guide and observation sheet as the instrument to find out more validity data. Thus, the data were analyzed using dulay and Richard theories. The finding showed that there were 55 errors in writing; they were: six errors in omission of noun inflection, seven errors inomission of verb inflection, twelve errors in omission of auxiliary , there errors inomission of article, there errors in omission of preportions, one error in addition, one error regularization in miss_formation, fifteen errors archi_form in misformation. There were three errors alternating form in misformation and three errors in misordering. Meanwhile the research found seven causes of errors, they were: interference of mother tongue, overgeneralization, ignorance of rule restriction, incomplete application of rules and false concept hypothesis, some of students believe that the sentences they wrote were surely correct and students lack of practive and limited vocabulary. The researcher concluded that the fifth semester students still made errors on their essays especially about the error of omission and the most causes of errors were the false concept of hypothesis
