Face threatening acts in the nichollas stoller’s movie bad neighbors

This thesis studied about the face Thereatening Acts ( FT As) in Nicholas Stoller’s movie “ Bad Neighbors”. The aims of this research were to find the kinds of face Threatening Acts that used by the main characters in the “ bad Neighbors “ movie. This research applied descriptive method were the data were analyzed thruogh brown and levinsons’s theory . the writer found that there are seventeen face threatening. Acts that were applied by the main characters in the “bad Neighbors” movie and they are categorized into four categories according to brown and levinson’s theory. They are categorized info four FTAs, Hearer’s positive FTAs, speakers negative FTAs . those face thereaatening Acts give bad effects or good effects to the hearer in “ Bad Neighbors” movie. The implication of this research is to give more description and comprehending about face thretening Acts to the reader. Moreover, it can be a reference for the students of Adab and Humanities Faculty who attracted to observe the similiar research
