Self-Actualization needs in the novel "WARRIORS" an Alex Hawke by Ted Bell
This research discuses Alex Hawke needs in Ted Bell's novel Warrior using Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy needs. The objective of this research are to find out Alex Hawke needs of fulfillment and its effect to himself and people around him. The researcher used the descriptive qualitative method. In collecting data, the writer used note taking as the instruments. The technique of data analysis in this study is using Maslow's theory of needs.
The writer analyzed five types of needs-physiological needs, safety needs belongingness needs, esteem needs, and self-actualization, in physiological need, he needs food, shelter and money. In safety needs, he needs stability, freedom from fear and security. In love and belongingness, he needs belongingness of friend, belongingness of group and belongingness of a sweetheart. The implication of this research is to give understanding about needs by using Maslow's theory to the readers or to the next researchers who would like to know further about it.
