Figurative language analysis in zain bhika selected songs
This research discussed about figurative language and describe the meaning in Zain Bhikha's selected songs. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative method. The researcher used note taking as the instrument of the research to find out the valid data. This researcher focused in Leech and Short's theory about the figure of speech from the lyrics of the songs. The data were obtained from Zain Bhikha's songs that contained in Zain Bhikha album, cotton candy sky and the passing traveler, the findings showed that there were seven aspects of figure of speech in the selected Zain Bhikha's songs there were simile, metaphor, personification, oxymoron, hyperbole, metonymy, and litotes. From the analysis, the researcher finds that figurative language that used in Zain Bhikha's songs. There are 17 data that have found, 2 data of simile, 3 data of metaphor, 3 data of personification, 3 data of oxymoron, 1 data of hyperbole, 4 data of metonymy, and 1 data of litotes. It can be conclude that figurative language that most used in Zain Bhikha's songs is metonymy
