Personality of the main character on A Monster Calls Movie (2016) a Psychoanalysis Study
This research discussed about personality of the main character on A Monster Calls movie (2016), A Psychoanalysis Study. The objective of The research is to describe personality of the main character described on A Monster Calls movie. This research based on Freud's theory about id, ego, and superego. This research applied descriptive qualitative method and psychoanalysis approach in describing the traces of personality. The data collections of this research are watching film and understanding film. The researcher used note taking as the instrument to reveal the valid data. The researcher found that there were three parts of the tripartite model namely id, ego, and superego which were imitated by the character. In addition, the researcher focused on the main character that shows the personality in his psyche as the main character. The researcher concluded that Conor is trying to face his dying mother who continues emphasizing in unconsciousness that her mother is still okay and begin to believe it. Even though in the end, he realized in his consciousness that his mother's health condition would not last.
