Jargon used by Indonesia vidio editours in Makassar
The main purpose of this research is to discuss about jargon used by Indonesian video editors in the communication process, revealing the meanings of the jargon, classified the jargon based on the Halligan's theory which proposed four forms of jargon, namely, acronym, abbreviation, word, and phrase, understanding the way jargons were used in communication and w revealed the function of jargon used by Indonesian video editors. Descriptive qualitative method was used on analyzing the data The researcher applied observation and interview techniques as the instruments to get the valid data. The result of the findings reveals that there are 37 dana mentioned by video editors, 1 data in acronym form, 3 data in abbreviation form, 24 data in word form, and 9 data in phrase form. As a result, word forin was the most frequent that mentioned by the video editor. Therefore, the researcher presented the way jargon are used in the situations. Firstly, when the video editor used the terms directly without any explanation aitort the meaning of the term. Secondly, when the speaker explained to the participants about the terms that need explanation. Further, the researcher also revealed the function of jargon used by the video editor in the field and concluded two functions of the jargon used, namely, Jargons were used to convey the identity and to make communication easier.
