Illoctionary act of the main character in frozen ii movie script

This research aims to analyze how illocutionary act performed in Frozen II movie script. The data were analyzed using descriptive gualitative method. The main objective of this research is to analyze how illocutionary act performed by the main character in the script of Frozen II by focusing on Elsa”s utterance as the main character. Note taking used by the researcher as the instrument collect the data. In analyzing the data, the researcher applied Searle”s theory of speech act in which speech act consist of locutionary act, illocutionary act, and perlocutionary act. Illocutionary act contains assertives, directives, expressives, commisives, declaratives. In this research, illocutionary act become main concern because it was the most important act in speech act and it is related to what the speaker”s intends. Based on the analyzes, the researcher found that Elsa used all kinds of illocutionary act: representative, directive, commisive, expressive, and declarative. The researcher found several ways of the main character in Frozen II movie script performing illocutionary act which include a firm voice, staring, sad expression, low voice, Shaking head, and etc.
