Symbolic interractionism in colum mccnn's apeirogon
This thesis discusses symbolic interactionism event study, which affects the main Character's point of view or their world view in a novel Apeirogon. It aimed to find out how the characters in this novel take attitudes and decisions that connect each storyline of the novel written by Colum McCamn. This thesis used the descriptive gualitative method. To analyze the data, the researcher used the theory of symbolic interactionism by George Herbert Mead to reveal character development in the researched novel. As the main Instrument, the researcher took note-taking to help him collect data and analyze them based on the theory used. In researching the story designed by the author using fragments, the researcher divides the text data into guotations based on the basic concepts of symbolic interactionism, namely mind, self, and society. The researcher revealed and concluded that every character's actions in the novel Apeirogon are influenced by events with solid interactions between one character and another, explaining the researcher's conclusion that this novel is designed in a robust symbolic social interaction between characters.
