An Analysis of women character in brothers Grimm selected fairy Tales
This research aimed to know the women characters in Brothers Grimms Selected Fairy Tales, Hansel and Gretel, and Little Red Riding Hood. The writer uses character and characterization theory, and women characters in Rumainum. The data were analyzed using analytic and dramatic technigues, conversation, behavioral, and thought and feeling. The writer also used the descriptive gualitative method.
As the result, the findings shows that women charcaters in both of this stories represent women positively and negatively. The main characters from both of the fairy tales, Hansel and Gretel and Little Red Riding Hood, shows characters development from the person who need other's help to be the person who can solve her own problem and the person who is reckless to be the careful person. It is also found that the peripheral characters are not always antagonist like the stepmother and the witch but also can be protagonist like the grandmother.
