Obsessive Compulsive Disorder In Carlos Maria Dominguez's Novel The House of Paper
This thesis is entitled Obsessive Compulsive Disorder In Carlos Maria Dominguez's Novel The House of Paper. The aim of this thesis is to describe Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder through the character in Carlos Maria Dominguez's Novel The House of Paper. The researcher used the psychoanalysis from Foa and Wilson as the main theory. The data were analyzed using a descriptive gualitative method to describe and analyze the data found in the novel The House of Paper. The researcher used note-taking as the instrument to find out the valid data. This research was conducted to answer the problems of how Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder occurred in the novel. The findings show that there were criteria of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder according to Foa and Wilson as follows: thinking ritualizes, hoarding, repeating, ordering, cleaning, and checking compulsions. The result of this study the researcher concluded that obsessive disorder is recognized by characters and impulses that cannot be resisted and cause emotions such as fear and anxiety so that activities can occur repeatediy and take up a lot of time.
