Influential Factors In Language Acguisition Of Boat Skippers In 17 Riung Island In Ngada Regency
This study focused on the second language acguisition of boat skippers in 17 Riung islands. The objective of this study is to find out the factors of the English acguisition of the boat skippers in the 17 Riung island. This study use descriptive gualitative method. The data are analyzed based on Ellis's theory (2013). The results showed that the process of acguiring their second language is influenced by several factors such as internal factors and external factors. The internal factors are: 1) motivation, namely the encouragement within oneself to master English with the aim of increasing economic income. 2) aptitude, namely the ability that occurs naturally in mastering English through hearing and sighi then being applied. 3) personality, namely willingness, confidence, and a sense 0 responsibility as a boat skippers so that Ht becomes a driving force in mastering English. External factors are: 1) education, namely the process of mas Pra English that occurs consciously with planning. 2) the environment, namely process of acguiring English through the habit of interacting with tourists and other boat skippers using English.
